Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve already vetted the financial advisor, the contractor, and the dentist, so of course you’re checking the details before you book a call about yourself.

All of my sessions are online right now, so my office is wherever you are!

Since I’m licensed in Connecticut, you’ll need to be in the state when we meet. I’m looking forward to opening my office in the heart of downtown Westport in Spring 2027.

The software I use is extremely user-friendly and lets you log on seamlessly every time.

What matters is that we’re present with each other, however we’re meeting.

So simple: just reach out. Call (475) 215-2634 or email me at mindembodytherapy@gmail.com, and we’ll set up a free 15-minute consultation.

It’s a short phone call so I can get an idea of what’s bringing you to therapy now, and so we can schedule your first session.

Think of it as a first conversation and a chance to connect. The formal intake comes later.

Every session is 50 minutes. That gives me a few minutes to think about what we covered before my next session starts.

My clients are adults, 18 and older. I love working with both men and women on an individual basis, and I’m passionate about giving people space to be heard.

If we decide it would be helpful to have someone join a session, such as a partner or a child, I can facilitate that as needed.

So much of our work happens in the presence we share with each other in session.

Outside of session, I’ll ask you to notice things so you can raise your awareness. Everyone is different, and if you respond best to more structured work, we can make that happen.

This is all about your authentic self, even if you’re not sure who that is right now.

As we get to know each other and build trust, I hope you’ll feel you can be open with me (and with yourself).

Therapy rarely moves in a straight line. Trusting the process is half the game.

I earned my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health at Fairfield University.

And yes, I’m licensed as a professional counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.

Yes, ask away. I’ll share personal anecdotes, because that often helps the clinical process.

Keep in mind that our time is for you. The focus stays on you, and I’ll bring myself into it only when I believe it will help you.

Since we’re meeting online, the furniture is yours for now, so you already know how comfortable it is. Sit, lie down, stand on your head. However you’re most comfortable works for me.

When my Westport office opens, I hope you’ll find the space warm and calming.

Never understood the stuff. It’s so hard to wash off!

Expressing your emotions is certainly part of the process, though, and I encourage you to do that in whatever way is authentic for you. If that means tears (of sadness or joy!), reach for the waterproof stuff after all.

Generally, Kleenex. I’m often more swayed by the aesthetics of the box!

While we’re meeting online, the tissue decision is all yours. Go ahead and pick your box on looks alone, the way I do.

Definitely Kindle, because I love to read. Insight Timer is my pick for informal, varied mindfulness options.

And I’m often on my America’s Test Kitchen and NYT Cooking apps for kitchen inspiration.

Both! I have one of each.

My dog has been known to make a cameo in sessions, and she’s been doing it for years, whenever we agree her presence is appropriate. The cat might show up on telehealth but otherwise prefers to stay home.

Bring it to your free 15-minute consultation, along with anything else you’ve been wondering about. Call (475) 215-2634, or send your question to mindembodytherapy@gmail.com.

Step Into Modern Empowerment

If the part about not being heard is the part that landed, bring me that one first.

The first call is free and runs about 15 minutes. Reach me at (475) 215-2634 or send a few lines to mindembodytherapy@gmail.com.

It can come out clumsy the first time. Understanding it is my job.
